Heating when power is cheapest
SpaControl moves heating to the cheaper hours within your settings. The plan uses the total price, meaning spot price, tariffs and taxes, not just the spot price.
You don't have to watch today's prices or adjust the temperature yourself.
Ready when you want to bathe
You can plan a single bath or set up a fixed weekly schedule.
If you want to bathe on Saturday at 6 pm, SpaControl heats towards that time and the temperature you chose.
If your plans change, you can adjust the temperature in the app. For a spontaneous bath, the wait depends on how warm the water already is and how fast the spa can heat.
Learns your spa
Spas hold their heat differently. Insulation, weather and use decide when heating pays off best.
SpaControl measures how fast your spa heats up and cools down and uses those measurements in its planning.
The optimisation follows electricity prices from day one. Over the first one to two weeks, the model adapts to your spa.

Does SpaControl fit your spa?
SpaControl works with controllers from Balboa's BP series.
It's the controller in the spa that decides whether it fits. The model designation is on the label on the control box and must start with BP.
SpaControl does not work with Gecko controllers or older Balboa series.
If you're unsure, send us a photo of the label on the control box, and we'll check before you order.
Connection
SpaControl plugs into the display port on the Balboa BP controller with the included connector. Power and data share one cable, so no separate power supply is needed.
You keep your display and need neither a Balboa ControlMySpa module nor a separate WiFi module.
Setup is done over Bluetooth, after which SpaControl joins your 2.4 GHz WiFi. Remote control and optimisation run through 4Power Cloud.

Home Assistant
Through the integration with 4Power Cloud you can see temperature and status in Home Assistant and use the spa in your own automations.
Blue Connect
If you have a Blue Connect water monitor, SpaControl can receive its readings over Bluetooth and show pH, redox and water temperature in the 4Power app.
You can be notified when the water needs attention. The readings are for guidance only, and dosing is up to you. The Blue Connect monitor is not included.
Questions and answers
How much can I save?
It depends on your electricity contract, the spa's insulation, the weather, the temperature and how often you bathe, among other things.
SpaControl lowers the heating cost by moving heating to cheaper hours and adapting operation to your needs. There is no single saving percentage that applies to every spa.
Does SpaControl take grid tariffs into account?
Yes. The optimisation uses the electricity price including tariffs and taxes, meaning the total variable price.
Can I still use the spa's display?
Yes. You keep your display and can operate the spa from it as before.
Do I need to buy a WiFi module from Balboa?
No. SpaControl has WiFi built in and plugs straight into the BP controller.
Can I use the spa outside my weekly schedule?
Yes. You can change the temperature in the app. If the water is colder than you want to bathe at, it takes a while to heat up.
Why is there a subscription?
4Power Cloud handles remote access, monitoring and the automatic optimisation. The subscription also covers firmware and software updates.
What happens if I cancel the subscription?
When the paid period or the trial ends, you no longer have remote control and automatic energy optimisation through 4Power Cloud.
Are the 90 days completely free?
The guarantee covers the unit's purchase price. The subscription is free for the first 30 days from when your order ships and then costs DKK 29/month unless you cancel before the trial ends.
If you use the guarantee, paid subscription and the original shipping are not refunded, and you pay the return shipping yourself. Your statutory rights still apply.
